When you edit a syllabus, your changes apply only to the specific syllabus you are editing, even if you are teaching other sections of the same course. Once your document is complete, you can use the Replace with a Different Syllabus feature or the Import tool (if enabled) to import the same content into other syllabi. This allows the syllabus to be completed just once and imported into multiple documents, saving editing time.
If your school utilizes our auto-import feature, you will see the import initiate automatically when you open a new syllabus for a course that you have previously completed the syllabus for.
If you have completed another section of your course in the current term, or if the section was completed in a prior term, this content will be automatically imported to save you time. The auto-import feature will automatically pull in the most recent version of the syllabus for that course, regardless of the section number.
If you do not want content from another document to be imported, you have a few options:
Option 1—Reimport
After the auto-import takes place, use the Replace with a Different Syllabus tool or the Full Import tool (if enabled) to pull in the correct document of your choosing.
Option 2—Manually edit
Edit the content you choose to modify directly in the document after auto-import takes place.
Option 3—Reset the document
If you want to start from scratch, use the Reset tool to reset all, or just some components. This will remove all imported content as well as any manual edits and essentially allow you to start fresh. It is important to note, once Reset is utilized, any wiped content cannot be recovered.
